Category: Comparisons
Compare Flesh-Eater Courts dice and the Idoneth Deepkin battletome on price, theme, and table use. See which Age of Sigmar purchase fits the army you actually play.
Quick answer
Buy the Flesh-Eater Courts dice if you already play that army and want themed dice at a lower price; buy the Idoneth Deepkin battletome if you are starting or expanding the army and need rules before accessories.
The price gap and what it actually buys
The dice list at USD 21.78 against a USD 33.50 comparison price, while the battletome lists at USD 37.80 against a USD 60.00 comparison price. That makes the dice the cheaper add-on, but the comparison prices are catalog references, not guarantees of future pricing.
The real trade-off is function: dice improve how a Flesh-Eater Courts army feels at the table, while the battletome supplies the rules that let an Idoneth Deepkin army function in matched or narrative play. Neither replaces the other.
Where each product stops short
The Flesh-Eater Courts dice are a themed accessory: they do not include rules, warscrolls, or army-building guidance. The battletome is a 98-page rules supplement, not a dice set, so it will not solve a shortage of matching dice.
If you own neither an Idoneth Deepkin force nor a Flesh-Eater Courts force, neither product is a starter purchase on its own. The battletome includes a self-contained Spearhead section, but you still need models to use it.
Dice size is not specified here
The supplied catalog record for the Flesh-Eater Courts dice does not state a millimeter size, so this comparison cannot confirm whether they are 12mm or 16mm. If hand feel matters to you, check the product page or the packaging before ordering rather than assuming a size.
Trade-offs to weigh before you buy
- Theme versus rules: Choose the dice for atmosphere and table presence; choose the battletome for actual gameplay content. The dice add no rules, and the battletome adds no dice. If your army cannot be played yet, rules come first.
- Lower cost versus broader use: The dice cost less at USD 21.78, but they only serve Flesh-Eater Courts players. The battletome costs USD 37.80 and serves anyone collecting or playing Idoneth Deepkin. Match the purchase to the army you actually field.
- Accessory versus core book: The dice are a 16-die themed accessory; the battletome is a 98-page supplement. Buy the accessory only after the army's core rules are covered. Avoid buying themed dice for an army you have not started.
