One coat over a white base gave my guardsmen a solid green with the shading already worked into the recesses. The 18ml pot is small, but since it's water-based and goes on thin, a little really does stretch across a squad.
Didn't think one coat could actually work on my Guardsmen, but the green went on thick and even straight over a white primer. It settled into the folds on its own, so I skipped the shading step entirely.
