Tamiya Acrylic Paints are made from water-soluble acrylic resins and are excellent for either brush or spray painting. These paints can be used on styrol resins, styrofoam, wood, plus all of the common model plastics. The paint covers well, flows smoothly with no blushing or fading, and can be blended easily.
Thinned out the paint to a perfect consistency for spraying, and it leveled smooth without gumming up the airbrush. Cleans up easy with water afterward, which I appreciate since I usually paint in a cramped apartment.
I was worried brush painting on styrene would leave streaks, but this thinner gets the acrylics to a perfect, smooth flow every time. It's also gentle enough that I've used it on styrofoam without any melting—just a few drops mixed in makes all the difference.
This thinner dissolves clumps in my acrylics way faster than I expected, and it leaves a clean, even finish whether I brush or spray it. I've been using it on styrol kits and haven't had any foaming or lifting issues, which makes cleanup a breeze.
