Weathering pastel set recreating sand, mud, dust and other grimy conditions. Conventional pastel requires a file to grind powder, but weathering pastels can be used right after they are removed from the bottle. Apply these pastels as is on a model to get that grimy effect.
Includes:
1x PW04 Chacol Gray
1x PW05 Light Gray
1x PW06 Orange
Huge relief that these pastels skip the whole file-and-grind routine entirely. The sand and mud tones go on straight from the stick and wipe off easily if you overdo it, which made weathering my latest kit a lot less stressful.
I was dreading the whole grinding-pastels-into-dust routine, so the fact this set lets me apply directly for mud and dust effects is a huge time saver. The sand tone layered really nicely over a flat coat for a believable desert grime.
The pastel sticks let me smear sand and mud effects straight onto the panel lines without any grinding, which saved me a ton of cleanup time. The grimy finish looks surprisingly natural once I sealed it with a topcoat.
